Kibune and Mt. Kurama

By October 2, 2015Japan, Kyoto

If you want to go for a walk up a mountain near Kyoto you could do a lot worse than visit Mount Kurama. Situated to the north-west of Kyoto, Mount Kurama (鞍馬山) is the birthplace of the Reiki practice, and is also said to be the home of home of the King of the legendary Tengu (heavenly dog) of Japanese folklore.

As expected, the views from the top were well worth the climb and if you walk down the other side to Kibune you can eat at one of the many restaurants that span the river. Highly recommended.
